Le manuscrit original de la thèse de Victor, « Chauffage turbulent et anisotropie dans le vent solaire », a été proposé aux éditions Springer par l’université Paris-Sud (il a été légèrement remanié pour satisfaire aux contraintes des éditions Springer).
Pour étudier cette question, Victor résout numériquement les équations de la magnétohydrodynamique (MHD) entre 0.2 et une unité astronomique, en incluant l’expansion anisotrope du vent. Cette thèse étudie d’une part la compétition entre turbulence et l’expansion et la formation de structures observables, et d’autre part la dissipation résultant de la cascade turbulente et le chauffage du plasma qui en résulte. Les résultats obtenus se comparent favorablement aux observations d’une part de l’anisotropie et d’autre part de la décroissance lente de la température des protons.
