Bad Honnef summer school chaired by LPP for the second time

Like in 2017, Olivier Guaitella and Anne Bourdon were chosen to chair the Bad Honnef summer school dedicated to cold plasmas physics and the associated masterclass on "the role of negative ions in cold plasmas", which are taking place from 6th to 13th October 2018. During this edition, Pascal Chabert will give his lecture on non-magnetized radiofrequency discharges and Jean-Paul Booth and Anne Bourdon will give two presentations during the master class.

The International Summer School of Cold Plasma Physics was founded in 1996. Every year it brings together new MSc / PhD graduate students from around the world to give them a solid introduction and a concise overview of low temperature plasma physics. The School has become an integral part of the curricula of some participating universities, providing comprehensive coverage of the main areas of interest in plasma science and technology : fundamental principles of plasma physics, plasma sources, thermal and low-pressure plasmas, plasma kinetics, diagnostics, modelling and plasma-surface interactions. This school is organized by the University of Bochum in the small town of Bad Honnef in Germany. Since 2013, an international president has been chosen from among the school’s teachers, and it is within this framework that Olivier Guaitella and Anne Bourdon have been appointed president of the 2018 edition for the second consecutive year.

It should also be noted, as it has been for the past 5 years, the involvement of the French network of cold plasmas in the organization of experimental practical work during this school.
The school and master class programme and all additional information can be found on the school’s website.
