LPP studies all aspects of plasma physics and technology from space to the laboratory, from theory to experiments
The Plasma is a state of matter with extraordinary properties:
– Plasmas are ionized gases.
– Plasmas can only exist when sufficient
external energy is supplied to strip electrons from the atoms and molecules.
– Plasmas consist of equal densities of positively and negatively charged particles.
– The charged particles interact with each other via magnetic and electric fields.
– This leads to strong collective behavior over large distances.
– They are also influenced by externally applied electric and magnetic fields.
