The Diversity of Cold Plasmas: A Strength for Numerous Applications

The diversity of cold plasma sources and the specific conditions they impose on matter pave the way for numerous industrial and societal applications, which partly contribute to the team’s funding sources. Indeed, low-temperature plasmas enable the efficient conversion of electrical energy into:

  • chemical energy (surface treatment for nanotechnologies, CO2 valorization, biomedical and environmental applications, detonation, etc.)
  • kinetic energy (electric propulsion, neutral injectors, etc.)
  • or light energy.

These various forms of energy lend themselves to various applications. Click on the domains below for futher information:

• Physics of ionisation waves
• Plasma-catalysis interactions
• The valorization of CO2
• Plasma-assisted combustion
• Plasmas in water
• Microplasmas
• Electric propulsion
• PEGASES thruster
• Hall thrusters
• Physics of radiofrequency plasmas
• Chemistry of reactive plasmas
• Plasma-surface interactions
• Dermatology
• Plasma sources and engineering
